Panasonic Middle East & Africa has announced the appointment of John Hardy as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), marking a leadership transition aimed at strengthening execution discipline and accelerating regional business performance across the Middle East and Africa.

The appointment comes at a time when businesses in the region are facing rapidly evolving market dynamics, alongside rising expectations for greater operational agility and faster decision-making. Against this backdrop, Panasonic’s leadership change signals a continued emphasis on continuity, internal capability, and sharper strategic execution.

Hardy succeeds Hirokazu Yoshida, who has retired from Panasonic Corporation. The company acknowledged Yoshida’s contributions during his tenure and credited him with supporting the organisation’s regional growth and operational development.

Previously serving as Chief Operating Officer for Panasonic MEA, John Hardy steps into the CEO role with extensive experience across the company’s regional operations. During his tenure as COO, he played a key role in improving operational alignment, strengthening execution frameworks, and advancing strategic initiatives across Panasonic’s diversified business portfolio.

He was also instrumental in deepening Panasonic’s engagement with key partners across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and broader GCC markets, helping the company maintain competitiveness in an increasingly dynamic and customer-driven landscape.

The leadership elevation reflects Panasonic’s broader strategy of prioritising continuity and internal leadership development, particularly as the company navigates shifting customer expectations and intensifying competition across both consumer and B2B segments.

In his new role, Hardy will focus on strengthening execution across core business lines, reinforcing Panasonic’s market position, and enhancing collaboration with customers and partners throughout the Middle East and Africa region.

Commenting on his appointment, Hardy said the region’s pace of change demands disciplined execution and close alignment with customer needs.

“Stepping into this role at this point in time is both a responsibility and an opportunity,” he said. “The region continues to evolve at pace, and what will define success is our ability to stay focused, execute with discipline, and remain close to our customers and partners.”

He added that his priority will be ensuring organisational alignment and consistency in delivery, noting that Panasonic’s regional foundation provides a strong platform for future growth.
