Principal Buyer promotes Mohammed Al Hammad to General Manager of HR

Al Hammad has been with Principal Buyer since January 2024, initially serving as HR - Center of Excellence Director before moving into the General Manager Human Resources role.

Principal Buyer, the utilities company of Saudi Power Procurement Company, has promoted Mohammed Al Hammad to General Manager of Human Resources, with the appointment taking effect immediately.


Al Hammad announced the move on LinkedIn, expressing gratitude for the confidence placed in him and acknowledging the HR team for its “commitment, professionalism, and dedication.”


In his new role, Al Hammad will lead the organisation’s HR strategy and oversee key people functions including organisation design, total rewards, talent management, workforce planning, HR operations, performance management and leadership development.


He will also work closely with the executive leadership team and Board committees on strategic people, governance and organisational initiatives. His remit includes driving organisational effectiveness, culture transformation, succession planning and leadership capability to support the company’s growth.


“I look forward to working with our leadership team and colleagues to strengthen organisational capability, develop our people, and contribute to the company’s continued success,” Al Hammad said.


Al Hammad has been with Principal Buyer since January 2024, initially serving as HR - Center of Excellence Director before moving into the General Manager Human Resources role. In his previous position, he led initiatives spanning organisation design, workforce planning, total rewards, talent management and coaching.


Before joining Principal Buyer, he spent over two years at THIQAH, where he held senior roles in organisation development and rewards. His responsibilities included workforce planning, organisation restructuring, job evaluation, compensation and benefits, succession planning and long-term incentive programmes.


His earlier experience includes serving as Head of Rewards & Organisation Design in the government sector and nearly five years at stc, where he progressed through roles in organisation development and organisation design.


Al Hammad began his career in compensation and benefits at King Saud University Medical City. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from King Saud University.


He also completed the Program for Management Development at IESE Business School in February 2026 and holds a Leadership Foundations certification from Management Center Europe.


The appointment comes as Saudi organisations continue to place greater emphasis on workforce planning, organisational capability and strategic people management as part of the Kingdom’s broader economic transformation.
