SICO appoints Ali Marshad as Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer

Marshad brings over two decades of finacial leadership experience to this newly created role for Buyside Business.
SICO, a leading regional asset manager and investment bank with a physical presence in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, has appointed Ali Marshad as Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Buyside Business, effective immediately.
This is a newly created post for spearheading Buyside Business, and Marshad’s appointment has been approved by the Central Bank of Bahrain.
Announcing the appointment, SICO posted, “We’re proud to announce the appointment of Ali Marshad as Group Deputy CEO. With over 19 years of experience in asset management, investments, treasury, and brokerage, Ali has been a driving force at SICO since 2008. In his new role, he will help lead our growth strategy and strengthen client engagement across the GCC.”
The role aligns well with SICO’s commitment to global best practices in specialization and corporate governance. “It will also yield focused client engagement and service delivery. As Group Deputy CEO for Buyside Business, Mr. Marshad will add depth and continuity to the bank's senior management team and play a pivotal role in driving SICO's strategic development across the GCC region,” the bank shared.
Marshad has been serving SICO for over 17 years, most recently as Group Head of Fixed Income Asset Management. He also currently serves as a board member of SICO Capital in Saudi Arabia. Prior to joining SICO, he worked with Mercer and UBS, beginning his career as an analyst in the financial services sector.

On the academic front, Marshad is a qualified Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and also holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Banking, Finance, and Management from Loughborough University, UK.
