OQ and Oman Labour Ministry join hands to create 600 new jobs

With an Omanisation rate of 87% and over 3,700 Omanis trained since 2021, this partnership aims to strengthen national talent and create sustainable opportunities in line with Oman Vision 2040.
Oman’s global energy investment group – OQ has partnered with the Ministry of Labour to create 600 specialised job opportunities for Omani graduates and job seekers.

These job roles will be aligned with OQ’s current and future business needs, in line with the company’s broader investment strategy. “These training programmes will provide hands-on project exposure and guided mentorship for Omani graduates looking to start their career in energy. This is a chance for the next generation to gain the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the energy sector while contributing to Oman’s growth,” OQ shared.
The initiative reinforces OQ’s long-term commitment to empowering young Omanis and supporting national efforts to strengthen local talent and advance Omanisation goals, according to the Oman News Agency (ONA).

The agreement was signed by Sayyid Salim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Human Resources Development, and Ashraf Hamed Al Mamari, Group CEO of OQ.
OQ’s dedication to developing national talent continues to make a tangible impact.
Between 2021 and mid-2025, the company has trained over 3,770 Omanis, while its training-for-employment programme, run in partnership with the Ministry of Labour, has helped an additional 1,817 graduates secure employment since 2011 across engineering, technical, and commercial disciplines.

Today, OQ’s Omanisation rate stands at an impressive 87 per cent. The company also mandates that its contractors meet the Ministry’s Omanisation targets as a key requirement for participation in its contracting and procurement systems, further reinforcing its role as a catalyst for sustainable national growth.
