Abu Dhabi Labour Court settles $84.19 million in workers’ claims

Authorities noted that the system ensures precise and transparent enforcement, safeguarding the interests of both employees and employers.
The Abu Dhabi Labour Court has settled and disbursed more than AED309 million (approximately $84.19 million) in financial entitlements to 12,536 workers in 2025, reflecting the emirate’s continued push for efficient labour dispute resolution.
The court attributed this performance to the swift adjudication of claims in line with established legal frameworks, supported by an advanced execution system designed to protect worker rights while maintaining business competitiveness.
Authorities noted that the system ensures precise and transparent enforcement, safeguarding the interests of both employees and employers.
The milestone coincides with the observance of International Workers’ Day, underscoring the emirate’s focus on recognising workers through strengthened legal protections. Officials described the achievement as part of a broader commitment to valuing the workforce as a key partner in development.
Beyond adjudication, the court has also expanded preventive efforts through its Labour Awareness Office, which has reached thousands of workers in multiple languages. The initiative aims to improve understanding of legal rights and obligations, helping reduce disputes and promote stable contractual relationships.
The developments align with the UAE’s broader vision of fostering a balanced and sustainable labour market—one that protects rights, supports economic growth, and reinforces Abu Dhabi’s position as a global hub for work and investment.
